Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the process of Uzbekistan's membership in the WTO

Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with a presentation on the processes and prospects of WTO membership. At the meeting, he stressed the need for Uzbekistan's membership in the WTO and its economic importance.
"In the next three years, we plan to increase exports of finished products by 2 times. The only way to achieve this is to become a member of the World Trade Organization. This will make it possible to establish a fair trade system with 164 countries and create sustainable markets,” the head of state said.
In last year's address, the President spoke about speeding up this process. To this end, bilateral negotiations were held with more than 50 member countries of the World Trade Organization. In March of this year, the sixth meeting of the working group on this process was held at the WTO. The issues raised by the Member States were discussed at the presentation of the Head of State.
Based on the WTO agreements, the tasks of harmonizing national legislation with it, bringing procedures and standards in line with international requirements were set. The necessity of forming working groups with the involvement of foreign consultants, systematic work with all ministries and embassies was emphasized.
