On March 12, the V International Tashkent Marathon started on the square of the Humo Arena sports complex. Athletes from 34 countries of the world arrived in Tashkent to take part in a prestigious international sporting event. Professional athletes and joggers competed at distances of 3, 10, 21 and 42 km.

The organizers of the marathon were the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Khokimiyat of the city of Tashkent, Uzbekneftegaz JSC and the Athletics Federation of Uzbekistan.

Opening the marathon, Minister of Youth Policy and Sports Adkham Ikramov noted that even today, despite the weather, about 5,000 people have gathered, who are part of the large sports family of the International Tashkent Marathon. Every year, with the advent of spring, the Tashkent Marathon opens a new running season for runners, where there are still many sports races and marathons ahead.

The total prize fund of the V International Tashkent Marathon amounted to 259 million 720 thousand soums. 30 million soums were allocated for the winner, who took the first place in the marathon for 42 km (20 million soums for the second place, 15 million soums for the third place, 10 million soums for the fourth place, 8 million soums for the fifth place). . soums, for VI place - 5 million soums).
