Joint tasks for the development of investment and foreign economic activity

On December 29, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev to analyze the results of the current year and discuss further measures for the development of foreign economic activity.

It was attended by heads of ministries and departments, industry associations, local authorities and heads of diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan in foreign countries.

The effectiveness of the joint work of Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions with ministries, departments and local authorities to ensure the growth of foreign trade, attract foreign direct investment, develop industrial cooperation and establish strong business contacts between Uzbek and foreign entrepreneurs was noted.

In the context of specific partner countries of Uzbekistan, the results of the work of diplomatic missions to support export activities were analyzed. The necessity of taking practical measures to ensure the volume of exports of products worth 23 billion in 2023 on the basis of a significant expansion of geography and diversification of the export structure was emphasized.

In this context, the prospects of using the benefits and preferences of the EU "GSP+", the organization of industrial exhibitions "Made in Uzbekistan", the analysis of potential importing enterprises to promote competitive products, the importance of continuing systematic work to eliminate tariff and non-tariff barriers in the delivery of local products to foreign markets were noted.

The paper analyzes the work of heads of diplomatic missions on reducing accounts receivable under export contracts, promoting new transport corridors and developing logistics chains for exporting products.
