Jonathan Henick confirmed as new US ambassador to Uzbekistan

At the next meeting of the US Senate, Jonathan Henick was confirmed as the country's new ambassador to Uzbekistan.

Jonathan Henick is a high-ranking official with the status of a consultant-ambassador of the US diplomatic service. Since last year, he has been working as the head of the Department of the US State Department at the College of Information and cyberspace at the National Defense University. Previously, he served as deputy assistant secretary of State at the Bureau of South and Central Asian affairs. He was responsible for Public Diplomacy and media relations in Central Asian countries, as well as in South and Central Asia.

Jonathan Henick, born in New York, speaks Russian, Portuguese, Turkish and Azerbaijani. He holds a PhD in political science (PhD) from the University of Hawaii, a master's degree in international relations from Columbia University in New York, and a Bachelor's degree from Columbia College of the same university.

P.S. The current US ambassador to Uzbekistan was Daniel Rosenblum, who was appointed to this position in may 2019. Now he continues his career as the US ambassador to Kazakhstan.
