Novel coronavirus strain

In Israel, for the first time in world history, there was indicated an incidence with coronavirus and flu simultaneously.

The new strain was reportedly called “flurona,” which was recorded in a pregnant woman who was vaccinated against the coronavirus. She was diagnosed with both coronavirus and influenza at the same time using several tests.

Professor Arnon Vijniser, head of the gynecology department at Beylinson Medical Center, said the patient's condition was currently stable. She is feeling good and may recover soon.

It is said that the Israeli Ministry of Health is interested in this strain, and experts are already scrutinizing "flurona" and possible treatments.

Doctors have previously reported a risk of coronavirus and influenza at the same time. According to them, this situation complicates the course of both diseases and increases the risk of serious complications, including encephalitis (brain inflammation) and death.
