Record heat hits Canada

On May 31, 2022, Tuesday, Toronto experienced a record-break heat within 78 years.

Temperature at Toronto's Pearson International Airport amounted to 32.1 degrees Celsius on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Canadian Meteorological Agency.

This is higher than the previous record set in 1944, when the thermometers indicated 31.1 degrees Celsius. However, in terms of humidity, today it seems like 36 degrees Celsius.

Residents were asked not to expose themselves to direct sunlight.

Such hot climates pose a health risk, especially to the elderly, infants, children and the chronically ill, the report said.
