«Singapore is an important partner for Uzbekistan», - Laziz Kudratov

During the visit of the government delegation to Singapore on 12 January, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. Laziz Kudratov held several meetings with heads of leading companies of Singapore.
In particular, during negotiations with Vincent Lo, CEO of CPG Corporation, opportunities for creation of joint investment company aimed at attraction of direct investments from Singapore to new projects implemented in Uzbekistan were discussed.
"Singapore is an important partner for Uzbekistan and the growing interest of business circles in joint work opens new opportunities for implementation of joint investment, industrial and infrastructure projects. "The Uzbek side is ready to fully support the development of these sectors," Laziz Kudratov said.
As part of the meeting agenda, prospects of establishing a biopharmaceutical enterprise in Uzbekistan, construction of a modern multi-purpose clinic, opening public schools with use of advanced Singaporean educational methods were discussed in detail. The sides agreed to speed up elaboration of a joint road map that would include step-by-step mechanisms of implementation of these projects, specific deadlines and responsible executors.
During a meeting with Oceanus Group CEO Peter Ko, the sides praised the conditions created for the comfortable work of foreign investors in our country. The sides discussed prospects of organizing supplies of export-oriented goods from Uzbekistan to the countries of Southeast Asia, as well as the establishment of a joint export company to serve the export of local food and agricultural produce to markets of Singapore, China and ASEAN region.
The sides also held talks with Lee Ching-wen, director general of TMC Academy, one of Singapore's leading educational institutions.
The two sides paid special attention to bilateral cooperation in higher education. In particular, an agreement was reached to establish two new campuses in Uzbekistan, as well as to expand the network of educational institutions in Uzbekistan's regions and introduce new educational programmes covering such topical areas as information, financial, blockchain technologies and cybersecurity in Uzbekistan.
