Uzbekistan is leading among the CIS countries

Among the CIS countries, Uzbekistan is the leader in terms of the number of hydroelectric power stations built. In the next 5 years, 11 new hydroelectric power stations were built and put into operation in our Republic. 9 more hydroelectric stations were modernized and put into operation with new capacities.

During this period, 6 new hydroelectric power stations were commissioned in Russia, 5 in Azerbaijan, 3 in Kazakhstan, 2 in Belarus, and 1 in Tajikistan.

Hydropower is developing rapidly in Uzbekistan. It is planned to increase its capacity by 1.7 times - up to 3416 MW by 2030 due to the construction of new hydroelectric power stations and modernization of existing ones.
