Uzbekistan on the way to sustainable development of food systems

Yesterday, a dialogue was held between the United Nations in Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Agriculture in Uzbekistan as part of Uzbekistan's preparations for the UN Summit on Food Systems.

On the eve of the UN Autumn Global Summit until 2021, initiated by UN Secretary-General Gutierrez, four key dialogues were held in Uzbekistan. This summit aims to transform the way food is produced, consumed and understood in the world.

At the final stage of the dialogue, international donor organizations in Uzbekistan, including the European Union (EU), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID), confirmed their commitment and further support for the development of agriculture and the food industry in Uzbekistan.

It should be emphasized that more than 126 Member States have held national dialogues, which are the main component for the development of national strategies for sustainable food systems.
