Uzbekistan-UN: Productive cooperation in promoting regional partnership

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Natalia German, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General and Head of UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, who is completing her mission in this post on February 14.

The head of our state noted with particular satisfaction the fruitful interaction with the Regional Centre and other UN agencies in promoting constructive dialogue and multifaceted cooperation in Central Asia.

It was underscored that four General Assembly resolutions in the most pressing areas of partnership in the region have been adopted over the past few years on the initiative of our country and with the support of the international community.

A number of major international forums and meetings in Uzbekistan have been jointly organized with the direct involvement of the Center. In addition, platforms for the Dialogue of Central Asian Women Leaders and the Academy of Preventive Diplomacy for Youth have been launched.

The High Representative gave her assurances that in her new capacity as head of the executive structure of the United Nations Security Council's Counter-Terrorism Committee, she would continue to promote close cooperation with Uzbekistan in ensuring regional security and stability.
