The Swiss government has handed over more than 1.1 million medical masks to Uzbekistan

Switzerland donated 1 million 145 thousand medical masks of the second degree of protection (FFP2) to Uzbekistan. The cargo arrived at the Tashkent airport on Monday, the service for sanitary and epidemiological welfare and public health reported.
The Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier stated that the plane that delivered personal protective equipment to Tashkent will deliver Swiss citizens and other people evacuated from Kabul on the way back.
Today, people can only leave Kabul through the airport. The airport itself is controlled by the US military, but it is not safe to get to the airport from the Afghan capital, and it is difficult to get into the airport building.
"In these circumstances, the capital of Uzbekistan plays an important role: people arriving from Kabul should quickly continue their trips to make room in Tashkent for new military aircraft arriving from Kabul", – the Swiss Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Over the past few days, more than 2,000 foreign citizens have been evacuated from Afghanistan through the territory of Uzbekistan.
