The spring session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly

Аor the first time after pandemic, the heads of parliaments of the CIS countries will meet on April 15 in St. Petersburg. The session of the IPA CIS Council and the plenary session of the Assembly will be chaired by the Chairman of the IPA CIS Council, Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.

The heads of parliamentary delegations will personally take part at the event. 

With the participation of the heads of parliamentary delegations, the International Parliamentary Conference “Global Challenges and Threats in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Terrorism and Violent Extremism ”, organized in cooperation with partner international structures On April 15.
On the same day, a meeting of the Council will be held, at which the heads of delegations will discuss the participation of international observers from the Interparliamentary Assembly in electoral campaigns in the territory of the Commonwealth, the activities of the IPA CIS International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development and a number of other issues.
On April 16, the 52nd plenary meeting of the Assembly will be held at the headquarters of the IPA CIS. One of the central issues will be the issue of legislative regulation of migration processes during a pandemic and the role of the parliaments of the CIS member states in it. The parliamentarians will discuss the model Migration Code for the CIS member states prepared by the Assembly.
All events of the spring session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly will be held in strict accordance with anti-epidemic requirements.
