The US State Department claims that Russia's actions are undermining the de-escalation of tensions in the Donbass. This statement was made on Monday at a regular briefing by the head of the press service of the US State Department, Ned Price, commenting on the situation in eastern Ukraine and Moscow's steps.According to his words, the actions of the Russian Federation "undermine the de-escalation of tensions provided by the agreement of July last year, which was reached through the mediation of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe." At the same time, a representative of the US foreign policy department expressed the opinion that the recent transfer by Russia of its military units on its own territory was provocative in nature.The situation in Donbass became more complicated at the end of February; shootings were recorded in the region almost every day, including with the use of mortars and grenade launchers. The parties blamed the aggravation on each other. On March 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a video conference with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Among other things, Putin expressed concern over Ukraine's escalation of the situation in Donbass.
