20 modern aircraft will be purchased for the national air fleet

In recent years five new private airlines have been established in Uzbekistan, and the number of air fleets has reached 44. This became known at a video conference on the development of tourism potential under the chairmanship of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It is said that the number of weekly flights rose from 46 to 78, and the number of passengers rose from 6.5 thousand to 10 thousand, due to the fact that the new airport in Samarkand switched to the "fifth sky" mode last year.
However, there is a shortage of domestic flights, 68 extra trains a week and 350 new carriages. Buses for tourists are in short supply in Republic of Karakalpakstan, and Jizzakh, Namangan and Surkhandarya regions.
In this connection, civil aviation managers have been instructed to:
—By the end of the year, purchase an additional 20 modern aircraft and increase the number of domestic aviation fleets to 64;
—To increase the number of flights per week from the current 461 to 700, to increase annual passenger traffic to 7.5 million;
As of May 1, regular flights between the valley and Urgench, valley-Termez, valley-Bukhara, valley-Samarkand, Termez-Nukus, Samarkand-Urgench and Bukhara-Urgench are scheduled.
At the same time, 25 percent of air ticket prices will be subsidized, and 60 billion soums will be allocated for this purpose.
Overall, it was indicated that the total number of domestic flights should be doubled to 100.
