3 countries bid to host the 2030 World Cup

Saudi Arabian Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb stated that "Riyadh is studying the issue of applying to host the FIFA World Cup 2030. The application will be made in cooperation with Greece and Egypt."

A Saudi official reportedly stated that the country is willing to invest heavily in infrastructure and sports facilities. All stadiums and fan zones will be ready for the World Cup and will be the best in the world, Al-Khateeb said.

It is noted that getting a venue is not easy because there are many contenders to host the World Cup in 2030. These include Morocco (Africa), Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay (together, South America), Spain, Portugal and Ukraine (together, Europe), Bulgaria, Romania, Greece and Serbia (together, Europe).

The difference between the above is that if Saudi Arabia, Greece and Egypt host the Mundial together, it will be the first World Cup to be held simultaneously on three continents: Asia, Europe and Africa.
