$500 million to be invested in Sirdarya thermal power plant

On November 30 this year, First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Mr. Laziz Kudratov with the Uzbek government delegation headed by Shuhrat Vafayev, Director General of Agency for Strategic Reforms, who is visiting Japan, took part in the meeting with Mr. Nobumitsu Hayashi, Chairman of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).

During the meeting the sides discussed the importance of continuing the systemic work with JBIC within the implementation of social and strategically important infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan in energy, chemistry, ICT and others.

For reference: 11 projects worth over 2.6 billion dollars, of which 1.4 billion dollars - credit funds of the Bank have been realized during the years of cooperation with JBIC.

The issue of attracting direct investments in the amount of $500 million to the project of building a combined cycle power plant at Syrdarya TPP (1,600 MW) with the participation of ID&Ef, Sogitz Corporation, Kuden International and Nebras was agreed with the Bank's management.
