6th meeting of the working group on Uzbekistan's WTO membership is planned

The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a trilateral meeting via videoconferencing between Deputy Minister Badriddin Abidov and the Chairman of Uzbekistan's Working Group on WTO Membership, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Geneva Lee Taeho and Director of the WTO Secretariat's Membership Department Maika Oshikawa.

The meeting focused on the current state of Uzbekistan's membership of the WTO and issues concerning the organization of the 6th meeting of the working group on Uzbekistan's membership of the organization.

The participants of the meeting were given detailed information on the work done in organizing the forthcoming meeting of the working group. It was particularly noted that Uzbekistan has submitted all necessary documents to the WTO Secretariat and the member countries in order to hold the 6th session of the working group. It was noted that in order to timely organize bilateral negotiations and previously planned events with the WTO member states the consultations with the secretariat of the organization are held.

At the meeting, a significant amount of work done by Uzbekistan in the preparation of necessary documents and systematic cooperation with the member states of the organization has been noted. The parties also expressed their full readiness to provide comprehensive assistance in organizing and holding the 6th meeting of the working group on Uzbekistan's membership in the WTO, as well as advisory and technical support for further process of our country's accession to the organization, despite the abundance of organizational activities.
