A meeting was held with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan

On November 12, 2021, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis T. Narbaeva met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan Amira Fahmi.

The Ambassador, thanking for the reception, noted that the presidential elections on October 24 of this year were successful, open and transparent, with the participation of a large number of international observers. A high assessment was given to the work carried out in the country on cooperation with foreign countries.

It was noted that the development of multilateral and mutually beneficial relations with Arab countries, in particular with the Arab Republic of Egypt, is one of the priority directions of Uzbekistan's foreign policy.

Relations between Uzbekistan and Egypt continue to develop and the range of ties is expanding in the spirit of traditional friendship and mutual trust.

In this regard, the parties focused on the issues of enhancing the activities of friendship groups in the parliaments of the two countries.

During the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to cooperate in ensuring gender equality and protecting the rights and interests of women.
