A new project to modernize the road and water supply network in Samarkand

A new project for the modernization of water supply road networks will begin in Samarkand. It is carried out in 2022-2026 for 4 years.

For this, a loan amount of 1.1 billion dirhams, i.e. 299.4 million US dollars, will be charged from the Abu Dhabi Development Fund of the UAE. They are issued at an annual rate of 2.5%, with a grace period of 4 years for 17 years.

The amount of the loan received will be returned at the expense of the” Samarkand water supply " and the local budget of the region, and the part of the modernization of road networks-at the expense of the state budget.

Also, when importing the necessary goods for the project to Uzbekistan, the customs duty is not charged. In addition, the state pays the participating companies compensation for the amounts of VAT paid by them. It is currently envisaged that 42.76 million dollars will be allocated for this.
