A programme aimed at industrial development is being prepared

On 4 January of this year in the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan in the format of videoconference under the chairmanship of the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held a meeting devoted to discussion of complex development of industry, implementation of new investment projects and expansion of production capacity in the country.
The meeting was attended by heads and employees of the Ministry, heads of industry associations, commercial banks, local authorities. The meeting focused on the importance of an integrated approach to the implementation of industrial policy in the country, which includes the formation of modern regulatory framework, development of the strategy of industrial development, taking rapid measures to accelerate the expansion of existing and introduction of new production facilities, creating a system of quality training and improvement of production capacities.
Working groups were set up with the task to conduct research and elaborate proposals to increase production and expand production capacity of over 1,300 operating enterprises.
The working groups have also been tasked with studying the feasibility of more than 1,100 new investment projects in various industries with the involvement of interested local entrepreneurs.
Further measures to develop free economic, small industrial and youth industrial and entrepreneurial zones have been considered on a case-by-case basis. The ministry representatives assigned to the regions have been assigned to make a detailed study of current activities of the zones, including connection to engineering services, efficient use of land areas, including the inclusion of facilities in the chain of forming finished products with high added value. IPPT representatives were also entrusted to analyse and elaborate specific action plans for implementation of 68 new large industrial projects in the regions.
Based on the results of the Ministry's working groups in the regions, a programme will be drafted that includes measures to accelerate industrial development in 2023. A separate area is the drafting of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Industry", "Industry Development Strategy in the Republic of Uzbekistan", as well as the establishment of engineer training schools at large production enterprises in various industries, where specialists will be able to obtain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
