A system was created to detect when the baby is hungry

Developer Caleb Olson presented a system that helps parents identify hunger in babies. It reads the baby's behavior and notifies the parents when it's time to feed.

According to Olson, the baby is less likely to announce hunger before crying. This usually manifests itself in characteristic movements of the lips, hands and head. Parents do not notice these signs and know about hunger only after crying. Therefore, the developer came up with the idea of creating a II system that monitors the child and reports the occurrence of these signals.

A baby monitor with a camera was used for the tracking device, the software part of the project was implemented using the Google MediaPipe library. Olson trained the system to pick up on the baby's hunger cues and prioritize each one. As a result, the system reads the characteristic behavior of the child and informs the parents that it is time to feed him.
