Abdulaziz Kamilov about the case in Ukraine: We are for a cease to the violence

Abdulaziz Kamilov, Uzbek Minister of Foreign Affairs, commented on the circumstance in Ukraine during the Second Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, Turkey.

Uzbekistan is concerned about the situation in Ukraine and believes that it is necessary to cease the violence and resolve all issues through political and diplomatic means, said Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov.

“We are very concerned and talk about this a lot. Yet, like most people in the world, we want a cease to the violence and a political-diplomatic solution to all problems”, he told ANews.

He also gave a speech at a session on "Afghanistan: How to Overcome New Realities" at the forum, noting that sustainable development can only be procured through greater cooperation and interaction.

According to the Minister, Uzbekistan's target is to bond Central and South Asian countries. The Minister noted that the Uzbek side deems Turkey's success as a bridge between Asia and Europe due to its geographical location as an example, and expressed hope that Uzbekistan will play a similar role owing to its geography.
