Abdulaziz Kamilov received the British Minister of State
On September 14, 2021, the British Minister for South Asian and Commonwealth Affairs and the special representative of the British Prime Minister for the Prevention of Sexual violence in conflict, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit.
Lord Ahmad held meetings with Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, Senator Sodik Safoyev, Justice Minister Ruslanbek Davletov and First Deputy Minister for Investment and Foreign Trade Laziz Kudratov to hold talks on the ongoing reform program of Uzbekistan.
The parties discussed the possibility of joint cooperation to mitigate the crisis in Afghanistan.
During the meeting, Lord Ahmad signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Economic Cooperation with Deputy Finance Minister Odilbek Isakov. The signed agreement is the beginning of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the program for Effective Management of Economic Development (EGED).
