Acceleration of the process of Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO was discussed

On December 12, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting dedicated to measures to accelerate the process of Uzbekistan's membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO). It was attended by the heads of the Ministry of investment and foreign trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as diplomatic missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad.
During the event, within the framework of the process of Uzbekistan's membership in the organization, further joint efforts were discussed, as well as measures to prepare for the 6th meeting of the Working Group on Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO.
Deputy Minister of investments and foreign trade Badriddin Abidov informed the meeting participants about the work carried out to become members of the WTO and introduced them to the priority tasks that will be carried out in 2023 as part of the acceleration of this process.
The importance of accelerating the activities of the country's diplomatic missions abroad was noted. In this regard, the ambassadors abroad were explained the main directions of the tasks set by the government within the framework of our country's accession to the WTO.
In order to accelerate the country's entry into the organization, it was noted the need to activate bilateral negotiations on the penetration of our goods and services into the markets of all WTO member states and sign relevant statements on the results.
