ADB will allocate $150 million in loans and $3 million in grants to Uzbekistan

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $150 million loan and a $3 million grant to help improve food and water security in Uzbekistan.
It is reported that the process of improving the management of land and water resources in order to increase agricultural productivity will be carried out at the expense of the allocated funds.
The bank will also provide a $300,000 grant from the Advanced Technology Fund.
"The ADB is interested in strengthening the management of water resources in Uzbekistan. The country relies on valuable transboundary waters that are important for agricultural production. These waters are the main source of livelihood for half of the country's rural population," said ADB Central and Western Asia. Yevgeniy Zhukov, Director General.
The project aims to support the government's priorities of transition to high value-added crops, improving land and water management, and adapting to climate change.
