Agreement on holding joint Uzbek-Vietnamese business forum reached

Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Lasiz Kudratov held negotiations with Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam Nguyen Hong Dien during his visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Hanoi.

The sides discussed issues of deepening cooperation in trade-economic and investment sectors, industrial cooperation and transport-logistics cooperation.

In particular, the sides noted the two-fold increase in trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Vietnam in recent years. In view of the considerable unexplored potential in this direction, the sides agreed to speed up the consideration and conclusion of an agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs affairs. In addition, it was agreed to form a joint working group to develop proposals for increasing and diversifying the range of mutual trade.

Issues of transport and logistics cooperation were discussed, with a view to working out the most effective logistics routes.

Following the meeting, the sides confirmed their commitment to further strengthening interaction within the framework of the discussed projects, and agreed to hold the next meeting of the Uzbek-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission for trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation and a joint business forum.
