An important role in resolving crises is played by the parliament, which is aimed at ensuring gender equality

The 14th summit of female leaders of the parliaments of the member states of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Tashkent continues its work today.
The meeting was opened by the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Martin Chungong with an introduction. In his word, he especially recognized that the summit was organized at a high level.
During his speech, Chungong mentioned Queen Elizabeth II, emphasizing that she not only became a high-ranking woman, but also took her place in the world. At the suggestion of the speaker, the conference participants held a minute of silence, paying tribute to the memory of the Queen, who died the night before.
In his speech, the chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbaeva, touched upon the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan to achieve gender equality, protect women's rights and freedoms, and ensure their legitimate interests, noting that this issue is a priority of state policy. He noted that work on this is carried out in all aspects of the life of the state and society on the basis of the strict principle that “no woman is left without the attention of the state and society.”
Parliament, which is aimed at ensuring gender equality, is especially important in resolving crises. Recent measures taken by parliaments on the equality of men and women, adapted to the pandemic, also testify to this. From this point of view, at a segment meeting organized in the form of a discussion, opinions are exchanged on four main topics.
