An international transport and logistics hub has been set up in Uzbekistan for humanitarian aid

An international multifunctional transport and logistics hub for humanitarian aid will appear in Uzbekistan. It is being established by the United Nations and other international organizations, as well as by foreign countries, to ensure the systematic, centralized, targeted delivery of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan and beyond.

The new hub will operate on the basis of Termez Cargo Center. Its responsibilities include:

to create the necessary conditions for those who use the International Hub to provide humanitarian assistance to stakeholders, representatives of international organizations and foreign countries;
ensure that humanitarian aid sent by international organizations and foreign countries to Afghanistan and other countries is received, stored and sent in the prescribed manner using air, rail and road transport;
provision of complex transport and logistics services, including loading and unloading operations, transportation and storage of goods, as well as compliance with the requirements of sanitary rules, norms and standards of hygiene.
Customs, tax, phytosanitary, veterinary, transport, banking, certification services, currency exchange, mobile communications, medical and hotel services, vehicle maintenance and other services in the hub area are provided on a "single window" basis.

When goods sent from Hub to Afghanistan and other countries as humanitarian aid are transported across the customs border, their customs clearance is carried out on a priority and simplified basis.
