At the plenary session of the Senate, the housing code was not approved

At the twenty-ninth plenary session of the Senate, the housing code of the Republic of Uzbekistan was discussed.

As noted, in the development of the Code, a number of positive goals were pursued, in particular, to further improve the procedure for carrying out construction, reconstruction and demolition work based on public needs, to increase the responsibility of individuals and legal entities in compliance with legislative and regulatory documents in the use of housing.

But during the discussions, the senators noted that the mechanisms for applying certain norms in the Code were not sufficiently disclosed.

It was also noted that there is practically no normative legal act regulating the ways of privatization of residential premises by individuals and legal entities established by the code, that is, the ways of building housing and obtaining Bonds by individual builders' companies.

At the end of the discussion, taking into account the fact that the code regulates socio-economic relations that are important for society, it was considered appropriate to improve the code with an in-depth analysis of national legislation, the experience of advanced foreign countries and the opinions of legal scientists.

Therefore, the code was rejected by senators.
