Attention is paid to the implementation of innovative projects on the «green» economy.

From June 1, 2023, a system of "green certificates" will be introduced, confirming that products are produced using clean energy and technologies.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on the presentation of measures aimed at developing a "green" economy. In order to consistently continue this work, the state program to implement the development strategy in 2022 provides for the development of a program for the transition to a "green" economy and energy conservation in the industry. The presentation provided information on the measures included in this program.

It was noted that this document defines the concept of transition to a "green economy" and energy efficiency in the industrial sectors with the approval of targets to reduce the consumption of fuel and energy resources in 25 strategically important enterprises.

Due to this, it is planned to save 3.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity and 21 thousand tons of oil products in industries in 2022-2026. As a result the share of energy costs in the cost of production will be reduced by 20 percent.

For this purpose regulation of greenhouse gas emissions will be gradually introduced. At the same time, measures will be taken by the government to support work to reduce harm to nature.

It is also proposed to fully implement the "polluter pays" principle, expand the list of pollutants and increase the rate of emission charges for such substances.

Particular attention is paid to increasing scientific research on "green" economy and implementation of innovative projects.

A group will be formed to continuously assess the implementation of the measures specified in the document. It will include heads of 15 international organizations and financial institutions.

The head of our state approved these proposals and gave instructions to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption in the production of products in each industry.
