Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkiye want to expand trade across the Caspian Sea

The first meeting of the Foreign and Transport Ministers of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkiye was held in Baku on June 27.

According to a statement from the Turkiye Foreign Ministry, the purpose of the meeting is to coordinate issues in the interests of the three countries and to strengthen regional ties.

The ministers will also consider increasing the capacity of the East-West transport corridor across the Caspian Sea. Transit is expected to be a major issue. Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have recently been working to increase the transit potential of the Caspian Sea.
