Barack Obama received the Emmy Award for «outstanding narrator»

Barack Obama, the 44th president of the USA, received the television "Emmy" award in the category “Outstanding narrator”. Obama was honored for his role as narrator in the "Wonderland" episode of the Netflix documentary "World's Best National Parks."

The five-part show featuring national parks around the world was created by Barack and Michelle Obama's production company Higher Ground.

TV presenter David Attenborough, actress Lupita Nyong'o, screenwriter Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and comedian Walter Kamau Bell were nominated for the “Outstanding narrator” nomination.

Barack Obama became the second president of the USA to receive the "Emmy" award. In 1956, Dwight Eisenhower, the 34th president of the United States, received a special Emmy.

Obama also previously won Grammy Awards for his memoir audiobooks Dreams of My Father and Courage of Hope.
