Business Ombudsman meets with Iranian Ambassador Hamid Naerabadi

At the meeting, the Iranian Ambassador got acquainted with the activities and powers of the Institute of Business Ombudsman, as well as with the measures taken in the field of protecting the rights of entrepreneurs. Thus, it was noted that since the beginning of this year, the Business Ombudsman has satisfied about 1,500 applications from entrepreneurs, and legal explanations have been given on 2,339 applications. At the same time, 511 responsible persons were brought to administrative responsibility, 442 - to disciplinary; 222 illegal decisions of state bodies were canceled.
In turn, Mr. Kh. Naerabadi gave a positive assessment to the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, thanks to which Uzbekistan is entering the so-called "Renaissance" era. At the same time, it was noted that the positive political interaction between Iran and Uzbekistan also affects the positive development of economic relations. Thus, the trade turnover between the two countries this year increased by 35% and amounted to 425 million US dollars.
During the meeting, it was noted that friendly relations between Iran and Uzbekistan also lead to an increase in the number of entrepreneurs operating on the territory of the two countries. However, in entrepreneurship sometimes one has to face difficulties, for the solution of which the assistance of the authorized bodies is necessary.
For example, JV “Ehsan Maybod Manufacturing Group” LLC, operating in Uzbekistan, faced problems with repayment of the loan, as well as with connection to the gas network. Thanks to the help of the Business Ombudsman, it was possible to extend the loan repayment period and ensure the connection to gas.
It should be noted that through cooperation between the Economic Department of the Iranian Embassy and the Business Ombudsman, the effectiveness of protecting the rights of Iranian entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan and protecting the rights of entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan in Iran will increase. At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for signing a memorandum of cooperation.
