Branches of the Uzbek External Migration Agency will be launched in 10 regions of Russia
From June 1, the number of offices of the Uzbek External Migration Agency in Russia will increase to 16.
New branches of the External Migration Agency of Uzbekistan will be established in the Amur, Volgograd, Voronezh, Irkutsk, Nizhny Novgorod regions, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Perm regions, Tula Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug of the Russian Federation.
According to the agency's press service, on May 10, the heads of missions left for Russia to start the work.
Previously, there were department offices in Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, Samara and Ufa.
According to the First Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations of Uzbekistan Erkin Mukhitdinov, centers for the support of migrants' rights are being established under these offices. Their responsibilities include resolving labor disputes between citizens and employers, Mukhitdinov says.
In general, as of January 1, 2022, more than 1 million Uzbek citizens work in Russia, which is 67.3% of the republic's residents working offshore.
