Briefing on the International Forum " Global Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals»

On June 23-24, the international forum "Global Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals"will be held in Bukhara.

In 2015, the UN General Assembly approved a specific action plan for sustainable development until 2030, consisting of 17 global goals and 169 targets related to economic, social and environmental issues, aimed at improving the quality of life, lifestyle and standard of living.

It is these goals that we see in the "strategy of action", developed at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The coherence of the 5 directions of the action strategy with the global goals has been widely recognized by the international community.

Uzbekistan has repeatedly expressed its commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and, most importantly, has put forward important initiatives to achieve these goals.

For the practical application of these goals, the chambers of the Oliy Majlis proposed to hold an international forum on global inter-parliamentary cooperation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

This forum is of great importance. A very large-scale event of this level, aimed at uniting the efforts of parliaments of all countries of the world and coordinating cooperation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, has not yet been held in any country.

To this end, we are holding the Sustainable Development Goals Week from 10 to 20 June.
