Bright symbols of Uzbek-Turkmen friendship

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev accompanied by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended the opening ceremony of Tashkent Park in the city of Ashgabat.

The park is located on the capital's Makhtumkuli Main Avenue. A landscaped garden with flower gardens, and miniature replicas of Tashkent landmarks have been erected on around 3 hectares.

Heads of state familiarized themselves with conditions created here and planted trees as a sign of good intentions.

National songs and melodies of the Uzbek and Turkmen peoples were sung. The Presidents wished happiness to the couple, who celebrated their wedding here.

The ceremony was attended by official delegations of the two countries, public representatives of Ashgabat and young people.

As is well known, during President of Turkmenistan's visit to Uzbekistan, the Ashgabat Park was opened in Tashkent, embodying the strong bonds of friendship between the peoples of our countries.

The ceremony of launching the construction of Khorezm-Dashoguz border trade zone was also held here.

The construction of the Border Trade Zone is underway on the bordering territory of the two countries at the Shavat-Dashoguz checkpoint.

Today it was also signed a protocol on continuation of works on creation and regulation of this object. Modern infrastructure, including trade pavilions, warehouses, container sites and workplaces for businessmen are planned to be set up here. The project will play an important role in boosting mutual trade and business contacts.

The elders of Khorezm and Dashoguz provinces and officials in charge have congratulated everyone through videoconferencing on this momentous event and requested permission to begin work.
