Challenges for the development of Sirdarya region have been identified

A meeting on measures of economic and social development of Sirdarya region was held in Saykhunabad district. The main attention was paid to the issues of increasing the number of workplaces, development of entrepreneurship and ensuring food security.

There are 35 thousand unemployed people in Sirdarya region and 42 thousand who went to work abroad. Additional 300 billion sums will be allocated for crediting farmers growing food crops. From now on, farmers will be able to get up to 150 million sums of loans without collateral. These resources will help create 45,000 jobs for Sirdarya residents next year.

Also, 40 billion sums will be allocated from the budget to improve irrigation of 5 thousand hectares of sown lands.

The region has great potential for food production, cattle breeding and poultry farming. Possibilities of implementing poultry farming projects worth 1 trillion sums next year, which will allow doubling the production of meat and eggs, were pointed out. It is planned to create 20 thousand jobs in the region through 858 investment projects worth 1.7 billion sums.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Ministers reported on plans to create jobs, develop agriculture, implement investment projects and improve the social sphere.
