On July 28, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation headed by Foreign Minister Wang Yi, a member of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, who came to our country to participate in the events of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO member states.

Current issues of further strengthening of comprehensive strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and China and expansion of multilateral cooperation were discussed. They exchanged views on the prospects of strengthening regional cooperation, including the agenda of the upcoming Samarkand summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chinese Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping to the leader of our country. It was noted that the Chinese side highly evaluates the current level of bilateral relations, which are developing at an increasingly high pace. It was noted that the political reforms and socio-economic reforms implemented in the new Uzbekistan are fully supported.

It should be said that China is traditionally one of the leading and reliable partners of our country. Trade, economic and investment cooperation is developing rapidly. Since the beginning of this year, the volume of mutual trade has increased by 35%. By the end of the year, it is expected that the indicators of trade will reach 10 billion dollars.

A number of large investment projects on industrial cooperation and infrastructure modernization are being implemented with the participation of Chinese companies and banking institutions. In recent years, the volume of investments in the economy of Uzbekistan has exceeded 10 billion dollars.

Issues related to the preparation and acceleration of the implementation of strategic regional projects, first of all, "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" and "Termiz-Mazari-Sharif-Kabul-Peshowar" railway projects, were considered separately.
