Denmark opens Honorary Consulate in Uzbekistan

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov held negotiations with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark Jeppe Sebastian Kofod on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
The sides highlighted the importance of organizing political dialogue and mutual visits and practical activities. They proposed to sign a protocol on cooperation and consultation between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and Denmark.
During the meeting, the Uzbek side welcomed the decision of the Danish government to open an Honorary Consulate in Uzbekistan, Norov said.
It was announced that Tashkent and Copenhagen are ready to continue cooperation within the UN and other international bodies.
In order to create favourable conditions for trade and investment relations, the sides agreed to develop measures for mutual visits of the authorities concerned.
It was noted that the organisation of trainings and internships for young researchers from Uzbekistan at leading Danish research institutes contributes to expanding cooperation in education and science.
