December 10 - the day of adoption of the National Anthem of Uzbekistan

On December 10, 1992 the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the State Anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was adopted.

The law states that the national anthem is a symbol of state sovereignty, and it is the patriotic duty of every compatriot to respect it. It is emphasized that the citizens of Uzbekistan, as well as other people living in our country, should respect our national anthem.

The author of the national anthem is the Hero of Uzbekistan, the people's poet of Uzbekistan Abdulla Oripov, and the music was written by the people's artist of Uzbekistan, the famous composer Mutal Burkhanov. It glorifies the great past, our national traditions and values, the universal feelings of peace, tranquility, inter-ethnic harmony and brotherhood.
