Deputy General Director of GGGI organized a meeting

On February 24, 2022, Abdulaziz Kamilov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, received the Deputy Director General of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) Helena McLeod.

Welcoming the guest, the Minister congratulated on the opening of the GGGI office in Tashkent, which has become the first representative office of the institute in the region.

Priorities between Uzbekistan and GGGI encompass mitigation of the consequences of the drying up of the Aral Sea, social protection of the Aral Sea region, adaptation to climate change, boosting energy efficiency of the economy, development and introduction of "green" technologies, urban landscaping and prospects for cooperation were in the list of the discussion.

The event was also attended by the head of GGGI's Tashkent office Aaron Russell.
