Development and strengthening of cooperation between the business circles of Uzbekistan and Russia

On April 6, 2021, the fifth Uzbek-Russian and Russian-Uzbek Business Council was held at the International Hotel Tashkent. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, co-chairman of the DC from the Uzbek side A. Ikramov, as well as representatives of various ministries and departments. From the foreign side, the event was attended by Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry D. Kurochkin, Chairman of the Russian-Uzbek Business Council, President of the South Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The main purpose of the event was to discuss issues on expanding trade between the two countries, creating conditions for trade between Uzbekistan and Russia, implementing investment projects, creating joint ventures and jobs. At the beginning of the event, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan A. Ikramov made an opening speech, where he noted that through joint efforts and the agreements reached, they would be able to make a significant contribution to the development and strengthening of cooperation between the business circles of Uzbekistan and Russia, and also contribute to the further advancement of the implementation of joint projects. During this event, a meeting was also held in the B2B format; large Russian companies engaged in the fields of ICT, construction and mechanical engineering, agriculture and food industry, light industry, oil and gas industry and others, as well as more than 50 representatives of local companies. During the meeting, entrepreneurs of the two countries discussed issues of further expanding cooperation in all areas An open dialogue made it possible to clearly identify areas of mutual interest for further in-depth interaction, meaning the elaboration of promising investment projects and trade agreements and to determine an effective format for interaction between the business circles of Russia and Hungary. Also, as part of the event, an Action Plan was signed to implement the provisions of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Russian-Uzbek Business Council and the Uzbek-Russian Business Council for 2021.
