Economic analysis in Karakalpakstan

 
On January 6, a working group headed by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade S. Umurzakov visited the region to study the current state of socio-economic development of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and develop proposals for its full use of investment, industrial and export potential. The Prime Minister organized a meeting with heads and staff of all regional offices of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
 
The meeting's major focus was the new system of incentives for investment and international trade, as well as the practical issues of its implementation on the ground. The participants discussed issues related to new mechanisms for developing investment projects, project management, cooperation with entrepreneurs, monitoring of commissioned production facilities, as well as coordination of ministries and departments in the process of practical support for investment project initiators.
 
The actions of project groups were investigated, which included the study of the region's economic potential, the tasks of which were not completed, the formulation of strategies and concepts for the development of districts and cities, and the development of economically significant projects.
 
District and city officials shared their personal experiences of testing the new system in the areas on the basis of specific cases and projects, and mentioned a number of problems encountered during their work. Each case was considered in detail, and the necessary instructions were given to the heads of relevant ministries and departments.
 
During the discussion, participants also had the opportunity to express their ideas and suggestions for the effective use of the new system, taking into account the specifics of a particular district.
