Elon Musk's page on Twitter has become the most read

The account of American billionaire Ilon Musk has become the most read Twitter account, surpassing the number of followers page in the social network of former U.S. President Barack Obama.

According to the data on the pages, as of Thursday morning, there were 133,070,628 followers of Ilon Musk, while Barack Obama has 133,042,957 followers.

The news of Musk gaining the most followers on Twitter also appeared on the Guinness Book of World Records website.

It is noted that Twitter has around 450 million monthly active users, so around 30% are subscribed to Musk.

Musk bought Twitter last October for $44 billion and faced an exodus of major advertisers after he plotted to liberalise the social network's editorial policies, which were criticised for heavy censorship and close ties to the Democratic establishment.
