Erdogan: new field with 150 million barrels of oil reserves discovered in Turkey

Anadolu news agency quoted Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as saying that a new oil field was discovered in the Gabar mountain region in the northeast of the country.

According to him, the explored net oil reserves amount to 150 million barrels. Erdogan reportedly said the reserves are estimated to be worth about $12 billion.

"This is one of the 10 largest onshore fields discovered in 2022," the Turkish leader said.
