Experience of successful cooperation between St Petersburg and Samarkand

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev received Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, who was on an official visit to Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on topical issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries' regions.
The Russian side pointed out the interest of business circles, enterprises and organizations of St Petersburg in expanding and consolidating bilateral interregional links, implementing joint projects in construction, transport and logistics, production of medical and pharmaceutical goods, furniture, as well as organizing mutual supplies of agricultural goods with creation of wholesale-distribution centres in Russia, oriented to products from Uzbekistan.
The sides considered prospects of cooperation in the field of labour migration, bearing in mind the dissemination of successful experience of interaction between St. Petersburg and Samarkand in adapting and supporting international labour migration to other regions of the country.
At the end of the meeting, readiness was expressed to continue active inter-regional partnership with the aim of successful implementation of the discussed joint projects and initiatives.
