Exports in Khorezm planned to reach $330 million

On January 6 this year, a working group headed by Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov and comprising heads of industry associations, commercial banks and local authorities visited some districts of Khorezm region as part of work to study and develop further measures to boost export, investment and industrial potential of the region.

In particular, the working group visited enterprises of Khorezm insulation group LLC, Technopark LLC, UzXCMG LLC, Eco Obi-Hayot LLC, Urgench Kormmash LLC, Tillo Domor LLC, Khorezm Salt Business LLC and Urgench Cluster LLC.

The region produced industrial goods worth 17.8 trillion soums last year, exports accounted for over 271 million dollars and 188 million dollars of foreign direct investment was assimilated at a working meeting in the region's Hokimiyat. The regional investment program for 730 projects attracted $276 million, 17.5 thousand new jobs were created.

The forecasts for 2023 are as follows. For example, this year it is planned to produce industrial goods for 23.1 trillion soums and increase exports up to 330 million dollars. As a result of attracting investments for 811.4 million dollars 850 investment projects are to be implemented in Khorezm region in 2023 and over 20,500 new jobs are to be created.

The main focus of the working group is to develop additional measures to increase the volume of industrial production and exceed the planned indicators by expanding and increasing the capacity of existing enterprises, eliminating the existing problems at facilities not operating at full capacity, implementation of additional investment projects. According to preliminary calculations, the measures that have been worked out will make it possible to increase the volume of industrial production by at least 112.8% by 2023.

Six project proposals for the creation of "Engineering Training Centres" at major manufacturing enterprises in Khorezm province have also been considered in detail.
