Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Sweden discussed topical aspects of the bilateral agenda

Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is in Stockholm on a working visit, today held a meeting with the Chairman-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Christine Linde.

The mutual interest of Uzbekistan and Sweden in the development of bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres was confirmed. A schedule of upcoming events, including the holding of the next round of inter-ministerial political consultations, was considered.

It was emphasized that the planned opening of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Stockholm will contribute to a significant intensification of bilateral cooperation.

The sides also exchanged views and assessments on the situation in Afghanistan.

Recall that on December 2, the 28th meeting of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers was held in the capital of Sweden, in which the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Abdulaziz Kamilov took part.

The OSCE Ministerial Council made a decision to transfer from January 1, 2022, the chairmanship of the organization to Poland.
