Head of the International Turkic Academy spoke about the oldest monument where the word «Turk» was used

On November 10 acting President of the International Turkic Academy Fuzuli Majidli took part in the meeting of foreign ministers within the framework of the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States.

Speaking at the meeting, Fuzuli Majidli noted that the brotherly countries are rapidly developing diplomatic relations, ties in the field of science and education.

Alternatively, he noted that archaeological excavations conducted by the International Turkic Academy in Mongolia discovered a memorial complex and inscription belonging to the era of Kokturk. This complex was erected in honor of Kutlug-khan, who expressed his opinion that the Orkhun monuments were considered the most important discovery for the Turkic world in the last 130 years after their discovery, and of their great importance for the development of Turkic studies.

The most important aspect of this discovery is that it was in this Turkic source that the word "Turk" was first used, and it was discovered by Turkish researchers, not by foreigners.
