«If necessary, let hokims, not teachers, work at home», Sardor Umurzakov said

Presidential Administration Chief of Staff Sardor Umurzakov chaired a video conference on November 1 on current problems in the public education system.

In particular, the arbitrariness and complete indifference in the work of officials of Shurchi district of Surkhandarya region during the transformation of an ordinary school into a specialized one was subjected to serious criticism.

"If the school issue is not resolved by next Monday, the authorities will hand over their administrative building to the school. This is not a joke. If necessary, let the hokims, not the teachers, work from home", Umurzakov stressed.

The meeting also noted all the special schools in Uzbekistan, and gave instructions to investigate the conditions and fate of the students attending the school.

It was decided that the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan would take these matters under its control.
